On the issues

Neither candidate responded to Flatwater Free Press’ questionnaire. Their responses to the Nebraska Family Alliance’s voter guide questionnaire, a series of yes-or-no questions,  were identical. They both oppose abortion and support school choice. They both support requiring age-verification to access pornographic websites.

Albrecht’s campaign announcement said he would like to fix Nebraska’s tax system, advocate for economic development and address infrastructure needs such as improvements to roads, bridges and broadband.

According to Meyer’s website, his priorities include lowering the tax burden, protecting the Second Amendment and parental rights, opposing abortion, investing in education and improving infrastructure.

Location

The district is home to Wayne, Thurston and Dakota counties and the southern portion of Dixon County.

In the primary

Albrecht received 41% and Meyer received 32% of the vote. The remaining 27% went to a Democratic candidate.
