Among his accomplishments, Bostar’s campaign website identifies his efforts to cap the cost of insulin, improve working conditions for first responders and require health insurers to cover the cost of cancer screenings. He also helped pass legislation to upgrade job training programs and eliminate taxes on social security and military retirement benefits.
Bostar is the executive director of the Nebraska Conservation Voters and Conservation Nebraska, which aim to protect the environment, increase civic engagement and elect representatives who prioritize protecting Nebraska’s environment.
He has endorsements from the state teacher’s union and Nebraska AFL-CIO.
On the issues
Bostar did not complete the Flatwater Free Press questionnaire. He told Lincoln’s 10/11 News Now that he would like to increase access to affordable health care, support crime prevention, invest in first responders and lower property taxes.
Bostar voted against the state’s current 12-week abortion ban.
